Heavier and bulkier deliveries with cubicycle
DHL Express has augmented its fleet in the Netherlands with the addition of a new eco-friendly vehicle named “Cubicycle”. It is a quadbike with a detachable container offering a 1 cbm space for loads. The first cubicycle is being deployed in the Dutch town of Almere.
The bike’s container can be stuffed with shipments weighing up to 125 kg in all on an average trip. In contrast to the 35 standard bicycles that DHL uses in Dutch cities, the new-fangled vehicle is suitable for delivering larger parcels. (ben)
