Heavy machinery from China to Russia

Rzd logistics has recently reported it has completed the delivery of the first two of 16 heavy machines from Tai’an, China, for the modernisation of two major Russian metallurgical plants. Each set weighs more than 300 t. The project required a multimodal route combining road and rail, with a key challenge at Manzhouli station on the Chinese–Russian border, where technology was developed to transfer oversized loads onto 1,520 mm-gauge wagons.

The company managed load securing systems, special cranes, customs documents and real-time transport monitoring. CEO Oleg Poleev said the project, prepared over two years, demonstrates the team’s ability to handle highly complex logistics tasks and secure additional rail volumes under challenging conditions.
