High voltage onboard Volga-Dnepr Airlines

Russia's Volga-Dnepr Airlines demonstrated agility and flexibility while organising a charter flight with high voltage equipment onboard to empower the construction of the 450MW Thuan Nam 12 solar power plant project in Vietnam's south central coast region.

One of its AN-124-100 took off recently from Mumbai (India) to Cam Ranh, a former US and subsequently Soviet military base, with a 30-t shipment. The company had to re-configure its flight route three times due to reconstruction of the runway in Ho-Chi-Minh City and severe lockdown restrictions in Da Nang.

No AN-124-100 flight had ever been operated to/from CXR before, but the carrier’s regional specialists managed to process the whole flight approval procedures smoothly, including immigration issues, to make this flight happen.
