Industrial zone in Port Trois-Rivieres takes off

In Canada, the government of the province of Québec confirms that it will provide CAD 2.5 million in financial assistance to the Trois-Rivières port authority for the development of logistics facilities. Altogether, an outdoor storage space, a multi-purpose shed and an oversized equipment warehouse are currently in the making. The new warehouse will allow Hason to operate a receiving, storage and assembly unit for its oversized products and export these overseas. The project will create around 40 quality jobs.

Denis Blain, president and CEO of the shipper Hason Steel Products said: “Since the creation of the industrial-port zone, the four partners involved have been working together towards a common goal, where each member contributes significantly to its success. The city of Trois-Rivières, innovation and economic development Trois-Rivières, the ministère de l’économie et de l’innovation and, of course, the port of Trois-Rivières have come together to build this project. This is a first announcement for Trois-Rivières’ industrial-port zone, but certainly not the last.” (fd)
