Milestone for Osprey, millions for air transport providers


Less than two years after surpassing 400,000 flight hours, the V-22 fleet of tiltrotor aircraft built by Bell Textron and Boeing, has topped the 500,000 flight hour milestone. Most recently deployed to assist relief efforts in the Bahamas, more than 375 Ospreys logged the hours, including the US Air Force CV-22 and the US Marine Corps MV-22.

 

Still on the defence side, twelve companies have been awarded global task orders under the International Charter Airlift Services in support of the civil reserve air fleet contracts, running until 30 September 2020: Atlas Air (USD 287,285,594), Federal Express (USD 38,903,491), Amerijet (USD 2,496,649), Miami Air (USD 7,084,737), Sun Country Airlines (USD 3,025,704), ABX Air (USD 9,394,053), Air Transport International (USD 17,450,997), Kalitta Air (USD 159,942,597), Omni Air (USD 77,654,435), UPS (USD 13,710,325), Western Global Airlines (USD 17,812,110) and National Airlines (USD 12,464,771).
