MOL promotes women's careers at conference

MOL participated as a Gold Partner at the Maritime SheEO Conference 2025 in Mumbai, a prominent global event dedicated to advancing women's careers in shipping. Over three days from October 28, more than 500 industry professionals from 70 companies attended under the theme “Believe – Achieve – Lead”. Representatives from MOL, including captain Naomi Matsushita – the first female captain on a Japanese intermodal vessel – delivered keynote speeches celebrating women’s achievements in the maritime industry. Female seafarers from MOL shared their experiences, highlighting the appeal of maritime careers and fostering networking opportunities.

MOL recognises diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) as a vital growth engine, aiming to increase women cadets to 35% by 2035. The company also introduced the OceanCare well-being programme, providing mental health support tailored for women seafarers. Through these initiatives, MOL is committed to building an inclusive environment where all seafarers can succeed and thrive, strengthening its overall organisational resilience.
