Munich airport extends footprint in Central America

Munich Airport International (MAI), a German airport management and consulting firm, and Emco, a Honduran construction company, have been awarded a concession to develop and operate the El Salvador airport cargo terminal for 40 years. The decision was announced by the government of El Salvador, through the Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (Cepa).

MAI will provide management and advisory services in all stages, including asset transition and takeover, operations management, service level, standard procedures setup and implementation, business development and training.

Also in Central America, MAI supported Palmerola international airport, which is the new airport operator of Toncontín international airport in Tegucigalpa, with a smooth change of management of the airport in the capital of Honduras. (ah)
