New connection to the Netherlands

Oman Air Cargo has appointed Swissport as its new ground handler at Amsterdam Schiphol, following the arrival of its first flight from Muscat a week ago, on 1 July 2025.

The Boeing B787-9 service will operate four times a week, with a payload of 18 t, transporting goods such as pharmaceuticals, engineering spares and express shipments. The airline's goods will be handled at Swissport’s 20,000 sqm CEIV-certified facility at terminal 11.

"Europe is an important market for us and Amsterdam is a key hub," said Claudius Pereira, senior manager for commercial cargo operations. Swissport’s head of cargo in the Netherlands, Jeroen J. Giling, added that "our teams look forward to making this operation a success."

The inaugural flight was marked by celebrations in Muscat and in Amsterdam’s OneWorld lounge, reflecting Oman Air’s recent entry into the latter alliance and its strategic ambitions in Europe. (ah)
