NorthPort acquires cranes to enhance capacity

NorthPort, operated by International Container Terminal Services, is acquiring two Konecranes Gottwald ESP 5 mobile harbour cranes to bolster its operational capabilities and support growing domestic trade volumes. These cranes, with a 41-t lifting capacity and 46-m outreach, will be deployed at pier 10, enhancing terminal 2's efficiency alongside eight quay cranes serving terminal 1.

The addition will increase productivity by enabling the terminal to service more vessels simultaneously. This move aligns with NorthPort's commitment to improving operational resilience and efficiency. Alongside these cranes, NorthPort has ordered four hybrid Mitsui rubber-tyred gantry cranes for delivery by 2026, contributing to a 49% reduction in carbon emissions. The investment symbolises NorthPort's dedication to sustainability and reliable service for its logistics partners and customers.
