October used truck sales defy trends


In October used class 8 retail truck sales in the US decreased by 4.9% month-on-month, contrary to seasonal expectations, according to ACT Research's latest report. Typically, October ranks as the third-best month for sales, running nearly 8% above average. However, the auction market maintained some of its previous momentum, with auction volumes increasing by 19% in October and wholesale channel sales rising by 2.5%. This led to an overall 5.2% month-on-month increase in total market same dealer sales volumes.

The average retail sale price for class 8 trucks fell by 3.9% month-on-month to USD 55,300, representing a year-on-year decrease of 0.8%.
