Oldendorff joins Australian association

Shipping Australia, the country's major national shipping association, has expanded its membership. The latest company to join is the international dry bulk shipping company Oldendorff Carriers. Headquartered in Germany, Oldendorff operates approximately 700 ships with a total capacity of 60 million dwt.

Ben Harper, director, Oldendorff: “We are looking forward to sharing our vision and adding value to the Australian industry as well as establishing open communication channels with local companies.”

Employing over 4,000 people across 60 countries, Oldendorff has been in operation for almost 100 years in the dry bulk, project cargo and trans-shipment sectors.

Shipping Australia now has 29 full-members, comprised of shipping lines and shipping agents, and 42 associate-members. They represent about 70% of Australia’s container and car trades and 60% of break bulk and bulk trades. (mw)
