Partnering for e-commerce

In Dubai Commer City, a warehouse zone dedicated as an e-commerce free zone, Hellmann has opened a multi-client warehouse.

The planned investment to make the free zone a major hub for international e-commerce amounts to AED 3.2 billion (USD 900 million) on a surface covering 700,000 sqm in Umm Ramool, right next to DXB International airport.

Hellmann will provide end-to-end warehousing including services such as order management systems and streamlined customs clearance processes. Last mile delivery services are part of the package, performed via the last mile partner DHL Express - from the bonded warehouse directly to the consumer.

The e-commerce retail market in Middle East & Africa is expected to grow by 20% to reach USD 26 billion in 2022, which outpaces the global growth of 13%. (sh)
