Saruhanoglu takes helm at DHL Supply Chain MEA

DHL Supply Chain has appointed Orkun Saruhanoglu as the first CEO for its newly created Middle East & Africa (MEA) region. Reporting to global CEO Hendrik Venter, he will focus on expanding DHL’s contract logistics services in sectors including technology, automotive, aviation, energy, and e-commerce.

Saruhanoglu has been with DHL for 27 years, most recently as CEO Central & Eastern Europe, where he advanced inbound-to-manufacturing operations and co-led the creation of ASMO, the joint venture between Aramco and DHL in the Middle East.

His appointment underscores DHL’s strategy to strengthen supply chain resilience and capture growth in the MEA region. DHL Group recently pledged over EUR 500 million of investment in the Gulf, while Africa’s rising e-commerce and infrastructure development continue to boost demand for outsourced logistics. (ah)
