Standic building new tank farm in Antwerp

Standic, a Netherlands-based tank farm operator, is building a new chemical tank farm in the port of Antwerp. The move will double the company’s capacity at the Belgian site.

The storage facility will initially have a capacity of some 95,000 cbm and a potential overall capacity of around 230,000 cbm. The farm is due to go into service in Q1/2021.

Ronald Ooms, managing director of Standic’s parent company Hametha, declared: "We selected Antwerp for our expansion scheme because the port is one of the world’s largest maritime clusters. In Antwerp, we will be able to expand in the specialty chemicals niche market of and serve cleints from all over the world."

The company will invest around EUR 200 million in the new storage terminal. (mw)
