Tariff hikes hit US logistics
A new survey from the news outlet Tech.co reveals that 66 % of US logistics firms have already been impacted by recent tariff changes. The measures include a 145% duty on China-US imports and the end of the de minimis exemption on packages below USD 800. As a result, 58% of respondents say they are expecting a rise in vehicle and equipment prices.
Among the 260 professionals surveyed in April 2025, 21% answered "managing financial pressures" was the top priority for Q1, "putting it second overall, ahead of every other issue except vehicle upkeep" stated tech.co writer Adam Rowe. Diesel price hikes and labour shortages add further strain to the sector, underlining the ongoing challenges for freight operators in the US. (js)
