Tobias Maier appointed regional CEO at DHL
DHL Global Forwarding, Freight, has appointed Tobias Maier as CEO for the Middle East & Africa, effective 1 December 2025, succeeding Amadou Diallo, who is retiring after over eight years. Maier brings extensive experience in finance, digital innovation and strategic growth, having held various leadership roles since joining DHL in 2008, including CFO for the region and CEO of Saloodo! Middle East & Africa.
He was instrumental in expanding DHL's presence in key markets such as Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Ethiopia and the UAE, and in launching innovative solutions like the RailDirect joint venture with Etihad Rail. Oscar de Bok praised Maier's results focus and digital expertise for leading the business into its next phase of growth. Diallo, born in Senegal, leaves a strong legacy of regional expansion, sustainability and innovation. His leadership helped establish DHL's presence in Africa and the Middle East and promoted youth and community initiatives.
