VTG pushes up revenue and net profit further
VTG Aktiengesellschaft, a European wagon hire and rail logistics company, once again pushed up its revenue at the end of Q3/2013. Compared with the same period in 2012, group revenue increased by 4.6% to EUR 599.1 million.
The railcar division succeeded in gaining a key customer in the steel industry, with this customer using 180 VTG wagons to transport some 2 million t of limestone annually across Germany. The division also managed to expand its business with a further steel industry customer with international operations. A total of 330 newly built wagons will be used to transport coal and coke within France in future. At the end of Q3/2013, the railcar division's revenue rose by 8.2% to EUR 253.1 million. (ben)
