WFS handles Airbus Beluga in Getafe
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), one of the world's largest air cargo handlers, has been selected by Airbus to handle its giant Beluga A300-600ST super transporter at Airbus facilities in Getafe, in the southern suburbs of Madrid, Spain.
As a result, WFS has opened a new station inside the Airbus facilities in Getafe. The aircraft, which features one of the most voluminous cargo holds of any civil or military aircraft flying today, will operate between that station and the other Airbus plants in Europe on an almost daily basis.
WFS is responsible for marshalling, towing and other aircraft services. The WFS team also will be in charge of levelling the aircraft perfectly to connect it to its integrated loading dock at the airport facility. (ah)
