Worldwide Flight Services enters Kenyan market

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), one of the world's largest cargo handlers, recently signed a partnership agreement with Transglobal Cargo Centre in Kenya. Under the terms of the pact, WFS will take over the full management, operation and business development of Transglobal's fresh produce and cargo terminal at Jomo Kenyatta international airport in Nairobi. Opened in 2007, the facility handled 52,500 t of cargo last year on behalf of airlines, including Emirates SkyCargo, Lufthansa Cargo and Astral Aviation.

Since 1 June the Transglobal Cargo Centre has operated under the Africa Flight Services (AFS) brand, the WFS division responsible for the development of a full range of handling activities in Africa. AFS stations already operate in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Johannesburg and Cape Town (South Africa).
