Belgium to Peru

Tuscor Lloyds, a British forwarding and heavylift specialist based in Manchester, recently completed the complex transportation of mining equipment material from Belgium to Peru.

The consignment consisted of 32 pieces of mining equipment and machinery, including one piece which weighed 50 t. Tuscor Lloyds was in charge of the port-to-port transportation between the hubs in Antwerp (Belgium) and in Callao (Peru).

The heavylift mining equipment was first transported to the port of Antwerp on low-loader trailers, where the 50 t piece of equipment, along with the remaining material, was loaded onto a normal container freight vessel, using a heavylift crane. It was then secured with heavy-duty steel chains. Some of the smaller pieces were shipped as out-of-gauge cargo and loaded onto the vessel pre-lashed onto flat-rack cargo beds. The heavy freight reached the port of Callao in time and without any damage, while the total transit time for this heavylift project came in at only 28 days.

Tuscor Lloyds, which was established in 1994, has recently been awarded certification to the ISO standard 9001 (quality management) in the United Kingdom. Tuscor Lloyds was also recently included in a study on 1,000 companies to inspire Britain, published by the London stock exchange and the London-based newspaper The Telegraph, making it one of the 1,000 most dynamic SMEs in the country.
