2021 a milestone for Girteka
Girteka released its financial results for 2021 in late June 2022. The Lithuania-based transportation company saw its transport business revenues growing by more than 20% compared to 2020, despite a significant rise in operating costs such as fuel prices. In total, sales revenues amounted to EUR 1.44 billion and ebit to almost EUR 78 million in 2021.
Besides other assets, the company invested in employee development and conducted over 60,000 trainings in its own drivers’ academy last year. The group also expanded its operations in Poznan, and its affiliate Thermotransit built up further capacity by opening new terminals near Oslo, Norway and Padborg.
“Girteka celebrated its 25th anniversary last year – having started from one truck and our first three employees. Last year we announced our new strategic dream – to become one of the top ten logistics companies in Europe,” CEO Edvardas Liachovičius said. (sh)
