A clean solution

Qatar Airways has signed a formal partnership agreement with Airlink, which supports over 130 aid organisations by harnessing the power of the aviation industry, to transport 200 t of humanitarian aid free-of-charge until 2022.

Under the new agreement, Airlink, its non-profit partner AFYA Foundation and Qatar Airways conducted their first project transporting over 32 t of soap to Botswana which was donated to a local organisation based in the country's capital Gaborone.

According to UNICEF and WHO, 3 billion people around the world do not have access to hand washing facilities with water and soap at home, while hand washing is critical to mitigating the spread of Covid-19.

During the pandemic, Airlink, which was founded in 2010, has moved 6.5 million pieces of PPE to the USA and across the globe. (ah)
