A good biennial Bordeaux

In the Grand Port Maritime de Bordeaux the entire port community, BIP+ and MGI are celebrating the two-year anniversary of the launch of Ci5. This Port Community System turned Bordeaux into a modern ‘smart port’ from the end of 2020. Two years later, the port’s digitalisation is still going strong.

Bordeaux, Informatique Portuaire+ (BIP+), a subsidiary of the Union Maritime et Portuaire de Bordeaux (Bordeaux Maritime Port Union), and Marseille Gyptis International (MGI) have been working in partnership for ten years. Ci5 is a one-stop solution that connects fifteen different activities in the maritime sector, including private and public players, in a real public/private data partnership orchestrated by the CCS.

Ci5 has based on open-source technologies, scalable and features technologies like blockchain, artificial intelligence and mobility. It has also integrated lower fees applied by the Bordeaux port authority for ships that generate less pollution (ESI) and sped up cargo processing, whilst also reducing CO2 emissions from port and port-related activities.
