A larger footprint in Southern Germany

DHL Freight has opened a new freight terminal in Villingen-Schwenningen, Baden-Württemberg in Southwest Germany. The centre offers logistics services for the general cargo network and for direct transport services on an area of approx. 6,000 sqm. Freight can be delivered and handled via a total of 26 loading gates.

The facility primarily serves customers from the automotive supply, medical technology, and mechanical engineering sectors. Approximately 800 incoming and outgoing shipments are processed daily for national and international transport.

The buildings of the branch office meet the highest energy standards. The energy consumption is completely sustainable and to a large extent covered by a photovoltaic system. Air conditioning at suitable temperatures is provided by a modern heat pump. (sh)
