A new perishables option in South Florida?

Hendry County, FL and Airglades International (AIA) announced new progress in US PPP in airport development on 19 August 2019.

Firstly, the FAA had deemed the application under the airport investment partnership programme to be "substantially complete", with publication in the Federal Register on 19 August 2019 for a 30-day notice-and-comment period.

Secondly, the FAA had selected AvPORTS as airport operator and Star America as a private investor and equity provider in a new all-cargo and perishable goods airport to be located at the current General Aviation Airglades Airport (FAA LID: 2IS) in South Florida.

Fred Ford, AIA President: "These decisions represent a major boost to our long-term plans to develop a new state-of-the-art logistics complex that will dramatically reshape the efficient flow of perishable goods from Latin American producers to US consumers." (ah)
