A train will soon connect Klaipeda and Odessa directly
LG CARGO recently opened a new regular container shipment route from Klaipeda (Lithuania) to Kiev (Ukraine), together with its partners Ukrainian Railways and Intermodal Container Service. In the past, the carriage of containers by rail from Klaipeda to Kiev lasted 5-7 days, and now - it is just one and a half days, according to the companies.
It is expected that the train will run from Klaipeda to Kiev on a weekly basis and will carry more than 10,000 teu annually. In the future, it is planned to extend this route to Odessa (Ukraine) and thus connect the Klaipėda seaport with the Ukraine’s largest seaport in Odessa. (ben)
