American Airlines Cargo has appointed its long-serving freight leader Andy Cornwell as head of cargo sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Cornwell, who has been with the US airline for 35 years in roles in sales and business development, previously led sales for northern Europe. He’ll be based at London Heathrow airport and report to global head of sales Indy Bolina.

Cornwell holds an MBA from the University of Buckingham. American Airlines Cargo moves freight daily between key cities in the USA, Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America and Asia, handling products from pharmaceuticals to e-commerce on its global passenger network.

The carrier is part of the American Airlines Group, which serves more than 350 destinations in 60 countries and is a founding member of the OneWorld alliance.
