Acquisition creates largest US tramp ship agency
T. Parker Host, a shipping line from Norfolk VA (USA), has acquired the Transmarine Navigation Corporation, thus forming what it has called the largest independent tramp ship agency in the USA.
The move expands Host’s maritime coverage in major US ports, including the Pacific Coast and Hawaii. Transmarine, based in Long Beach CA (USA), brings 85 years of experience and operations in ports such as San Francisco, Seattle and Honolulu with it.
T. Parker Host CEO Adam Anderson said the deal supports the firm’s strategy of offering responsive services nationwide. Transmarine’s values of operational excellence and long-term partnerships align with Host’s service culture. Both companies will integrate customer teams and infrastructure, ensuring continuity and enhanced reach.
The acquisition also merges the Houston and New Orleans offices, improving vessel turnaround and cargo handling through a unified operational network. (gy)
