Adding capacities in the Visayan Islands

The Visayas Container Terminal (VCT) in Iloilo (Philippines) has welcomed SITC Container Lines’ revamped China-Philippines Express 7 service (CPX7), now offering weekly calls since last month.

The maiden call by the ‘SITC Yokohama’ marked the start of regular sailings connecting Iloilo with Shanghai, Xiamen, Cebu and Cagayan de Oro.

The 1,800 teu ‘SITC Fujian’, deployed on the route, benefits from VCT’s upgraded infrastructure, including new mobile harbour cranes – the largest in the Visayas. The added capacity enhances cargo handling, improves schedule reliability and supports exporters and importers in the Western Visayas. VCT, operated by ICTSI, has successfully positioned itself as a key regional trade hub in the Philippines. (ah)
