Adiyaman to receive help by rail

A month after the earthquake hit in Turkey, the situation on the ground is still extremely critical. One of the biggest challenges is to get aid supplies to where they are needed. Strabag and ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) have joined forces to help earthquake victims.

As part of an inter-company collaboration, a 220 t special RCG train is currently on its 2,800 km journey to the earthquake disaster zone in the Turkish region of Adiyaman. It is transporting 30 Strabag office containers and three sanitary containers.

Other aid supplies, such as furniture and urgently needed hygiene items, are also travelling on board the train. The containers will serve as living quarters for people made homeless by the devastating earthquake. (ben)
