Afrinat to start intercontinental services
Afrinat International, an airline based in Banjul (Gambia), is launching international services today (26 June). B747 flights will link Accra (Ghana) four times per week with New York JFK (USA) and three times per week with Harare (Zimbabwe).
Founded in 2002 by a group of West African businessmen, Afrinat hopes to fill the vacuum left by Air Afrique (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) by offering flights from New York JFK to Banjul, Accra, Abidjan and Douala (Cameroon). The carrier had also planned to offer regional services out of its Gambian hub to Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, and Cameroon using a DC-9-30.
