AGCT invests in quay cranes
Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT), ICTSI’s container terminal in Croatia, has formally presented its newly acquired "super post-Panamax" quay cranes to industry stakeholders at the Port of Rijeka. The equipment, currently undergoing commissioning and technical testing, is scheduled to become fully operational by the end of the year.
Manufactured by ZPMC, the cranes represent the latest generation of "super post-Panamax" units and are tailored to AGCT’s operational requirements, including customised load-bearing specifications as ICTSI reported. With an outreach of 67.5 m they will allow AGCT to handle the largest container vessels currently deployed in the global fleet. "The acquisition of these new cranes is an important first step in the continued modernization of our terminal," stated Emmanuel Papagiannakis, AGCT CEO.
