Air BP: aviation fuel venture in Iraq

International aviation fuel products and service supplier Air BP has begun an aircraft-fuelling joint venture at Baghdad international airport (BGW).

The undertaking, the United Iraqi Company for Airports and Ground Handling Services (to operate under the name Masil), has been awarded an operating licence for ground-handling and cargo services and to refuel aircraft. The JV aims to further improve customer services, safety and operational standards at the airport.

Air BP will provide assurance on all aspects of fuel supply and aircraft refuelling operations, including operating standards, workforce training to enhance knowledge and expertise, and advice on product quality, operations, HSSE and maintenance. (cj)
