Fiata recently informed that Icao has released amendments to the 2021-2022 edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air relating to the containment of Covid-19.
One of the amendments aims to facilitate the transport of vaccines, by making them not subject to the requirement for authorisation as dangerous goods despite containing a specific ingredient that would ordinarily require such a permit.
This amendment also applies to data loggers and cargo tracking devices needed to monitor the temperature and location of vaccines during transport that are powered by lithium batteries. (sh)
