Air Côte d’Ivoire receives first A330neo

Air Côte d’Ivoire took delivery of its first Airbus A330-900 earlier this month, the first widebody in its fleet and the first of two on order. The aircraft will support expansion to Paris and later to the Middle East and North America, offering significantly more bellyhold space for cargo alongside passenger traffic.

On its delivery flight from Toulouse to Abidjan, it carried 5 t of humanitarian supplies for local NGOs, coordinated with the Airbus Foundation and Aviation Sans Frontières. With its larger freight capacity, the A330neo strengthens Abidjan’s role as a hub in West Africa and provides new opportunities for exporters.

The European aerospace manufacturer notes the type can already operate with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel, with a target of 100% by 2030. (ah)
