Air India sharpens cargo and hub strategy
Air India has partnered with US-based Revenue Technology Services (RTS) to implement AI-powered platforms for cargo revenue management and dynamic pricing. The "Velocity" and "AcceleRate" systems will improve forecasting, rate setting and yield optimisation, supporting the airline’s ambition to regain ground in the global cargo market.
At the same time, the group is preparing to launch operations today at the new Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI). Air India Express will begin with 20 daily departures, scaling to 60 by winter 2026. NMI is set to handle 0.5 million t of cargo in its first phase, rising to 3.2 million t when fully complete, positioning Mumbai as a twin-airport hub and a key freight gateway between East and West.
