Aircraft again come to the rescue

Aid for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria of 6 February 2023 is coming primarily from the air. Similarly to the logistics for PPE or test kits in the fight against Covid-19, airlines and companies whose main business is usually passenger aviation, especially tourist traffic, are also participating in the humanitarian airlifts.

As an example, on 14 February, Condor and the tour operator Bentour, in cooperation with the Turkish embassy in Berlin and with the Turkish consulate general in Frankfurt, jointly organised a first flight with relief supplies to Adana.

On board the B767 were, among other things, generators, winter jackets and sleeping bags. Bentour CEO Deniz Ugur: "The scale of the disaster is so indescribably huge that every possible help is needed here." (ah)
