Annaleena Mäkilä elected


Annaleena Mäkilä was unanimously elected as chair of the European Sea Ports Organisation by the general assembly in Brussels (Belgium).

 

Since 2012, she has been managing director, CEO of the Finnish Ports Association and now, Mäkilä will take Eamonn O'Reilly's role, who has served as ESPO's chair for the last four years.

 

Zeno D'Agostino and Daan Schalk were also elected, taking the roles of the organisation's vice-chairs. D'Agostino, president of the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea (Italy), will begin a second term in that role.

 

Schalk is CEO of North Sea Port, a cross-border port formed by the Dutch Zeeland Seaports (Vlissingen and Terneuzen) and the Flemish/Belgian port of Ghent.

 

Mäkilä: "I am proud to have been elected as chair of this strong organisation and unique network of port professionals representing the common interests of all European ports." (amh)
