Another alternative to road haulage on the Brenner axis

Kombiverkehr is adding one more train per week to its services between the intermodal terminals in the Hannover-Linden port in Germany and Verona Quadrante Europa in Italy. With this additional departure, the trains now run five times a week in both directions.

"With this expansion we provide more options to avoid the current measures to reduce truck traffic on the Brenner axis in Tyrol," Kombiverkehr said.

At present, the company offers 110 train departures per week for unaccompanied intermodal transports. On the 1,045 km link transporting a 25 t truck by rail saves more than 1.5 t of CO2 compared to travelling the entire journey by road. (ben)
