Another mission for Pyka drones

U.S. robotics company Pyka has entered the defense sector with its new DropShip unmanned aerial system (UAS), designed for long-range and heavy-lift missions.

The autonomous aircraft offers a range of 5,600 km, a payload capacity of 250 kg, and precision airdrop accuracy within 45 m of target. It can also operate in all-electric stealth mode for up to 45 minutes and be deployed from a shipping container in under an hour.

CEO Michael Norcia said DropShip meets the need for a flexible, cost-efficient platform for logistics, ISR, and humanitarian missions. Building on Pyka’s FAA-certified Pelican 2 crop-protection UAS, DropShip features modular mission systems and open-architecture integration. Its first flight is planned for early 2026. (ah)
