Arkas enlarging West African offering

Turkey-based Arkas Line is adding new elements to its West Africa services. In mid November (wk 47), the carrier will launch a new Senegal Mauritania Express service (SME) that will transport all Mediterranean and Black Sea cargoes from Arkas’s Tangier feeder network and the port of Tangier.

SME will provide weekly sailings from North Europe to Senegal and Mauritania and vice versa. It will be a joint service, as Arkas Line will be a slot user on the service that will be operated by four of Hapag-Lloyd’s 1,700 teu vessels. The SME rotation will be: Antwerp, Dunkirk, Lisbon, Tangier, Dakar, Nouakchott, Tangier, Leixoes and Antwerp.

At the same time the Dakar call will be removed from the Europe Africa Service (EAS) which will improve schedule reliability. The new EAS rotation will be: Antwerp, Hamburg, Casablanca, Tangier, Tema, Abidjan, Tangier and Antwerp. (kd)
