Arkas upgrading East Med/Black Sea service
Arkas Line is about to upgrade its East Med/Black Sea (EBS) service by deploying larger vessels. The new EBS is based on a vessel sharing agreement between Turkey-based Arkas Line and Seago Line, a Maersk affiliate. The pact is the second one the two parties have signed – the first was the Aegean/Spain agreement in May 2016.
The average vessel capacity of the enhanced service will be between 5,500 and 6,000 teu. Arkas Line will operate one vessel (Conti Basel) and Seago the other three.
The first sailing will be made by the “Conti Basel” from Damietta on 5 July 2016. Successive sailings will be operated by Seago tonnage.
The new rotation of the weekly service will be: Damietta – Port Said East – Marport – Constanta – Odessa – Ilyichevsk – Novorossiysk – Constanta – Marport – Port Said East – Ashdod and Damietta.
