ASL converts option

Dublin-based ASL Aviation Holdings is taking up ten options for the 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter. This follows the original agreement with Boeing for ten firm orders and ten options, announced at the Paris Air Show in 2019. They will be introduced to meet the requirements of ASL’s express integrator customers.

Chief executive Dave Andrew: "The performance and reliability of the 737-800BCF make it the perfect fit for our combined fleet renewal and growth programmes."

The first of the freighters was delivered last month and entered service in France. The second has gone to ASL’s joint venture airline, Bangkok-based K-Mile Asia, and is expected to enter service in April.

In 2020 ASL airlines transported 810,000 t of cargo globally on customer ACMI flights and ASL’s own scheduled flights. (ah)
