ASMO launches "Central Pipe Yard"
ASMO has launched operations at the "Central Pipe Yard" (CPY) in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, an Aramco facility covering more than 5 million square metres and one of the world’s largest logistics hubs for Oil Country Tubular Goods and line pipe materials according to the company. The site near Abqaiq aims to support Aramco’s upstream, downstream and capital projects by storing and distributing critical materials used in drilling and production activities.
Under ASMO’s management, the company will focus on improving service levels and streamlining material flows. Furthermore it aims to enhance inventory visibility and ensure delivery. CPY is the third operational facility now managed by ASMO, following the earlier transition of Aramco warehousing sites in Riyadh and Jazan. "With three Aramco supply chain facilities now under our management, we have a strong foundation to unlock new opportunities of efficiencies, optimize operations and drive innovation", stated Craig Roberts, CEO of ASMO.
