Australia Post also wins

Despite a recent three-day disruption in its picking up services for parcels from e-commerce retailers in New South Wales, Victoria and Australia’s capital Canberra due to the pandemic, Australia Post benefited from the current market situation.

Group revenue in its financial year 2021 (FY21) from July 2020 till June 2021 grew by 10.3% to AUD 8.27 billion (USD 6.15 billion), while profit before tax amounted to AUD 100.7 million (USD 74.88 million).

The trends in e-commerce – up 31.8% as Australians took to online shopping in record numbers – supported the result, as did the temporary regulatory changes which allowed the company to meet significant rises in parcel demand and ongoing mail deliveries.

AP Global continued to expand its cross-border e-commerce business, with revenue up 90.6% to AUD 429 million (USD 319 million), with its end-to-end logistics solutions for a portfolio of global e-commerce merchants delivering over 40 million parcels. (sh)
