Austria hosts logistics leaders
The 2025 'Vienna Logistics Forum' drawed more than 130 participants from business, politics and research. Hosted at Austrian Post’s headquarters, the forum focused on risk management and zero-emission transport. Austrian mobility and innovation minister Peter Hanke (pictured middle) attended for the first time, underlining the sector’s economic importance at the event. He stressed the need for long-term strategies to strengthen Austria’s competitiveness and regulatory support for a sustainable logistics sector.
VNL chairman Franz Staberhofer (pictured right) noted the network’s growth of 25% since 2024 to over 5,500 members and announced that Vienna will host the 'European logistics award' from 2026. Austrian Post’s parcel and logistics board member Peter Umundum (pictured left) highlighted the company’s efforts in CO₂-free operations and digitalisation, adding that collaboration will be key to shaping future logistics.
