Austrian Post takes over DP DHL hubs
After the German federal cartel office, the Austrian competition authority and the federal anti-trust attorney have also given the green light, under certain conditions, for the Austrian Post to take charge of locations of the Deutsche Post DHL Group in Austria as planned.
Effective 1 August 2019, the Austrian Post will take over three logistics centres and ten delivery hubs, as well as the majority of the employees of DHL Parcel Austria in the country.
The Austrian Post will then be responsible for delivering standard parcel consignments on behalf of the Deutsche Post DHL group to private recipients in Austria. Customers will benefit from short shipment times and deliveries on six days a week. The operations of DHL Express in Austria are not affected by this agreement. (mw)
