Baltic Rail Gate appoints Lonke as co-head
Dietmar Lonke (on the left) has taken over as managing director of Baltic Rail Gate (BRG) in Lübeck, succeeding Antje Falk, who'll retire this summer after leading the terminal since its founding in 2000.
Falk played a key role in establishing BRG as a major intermodal hub in the Baltic region, with 55 direct weekly trains and 124,000 units handled in 2024. Recent upgrades include six 740 m railway tracks and an additional crane, set to commence remote-controlled operations this autumn.
Lonke brings extensive experience from Rhenus, VTG, Ambrogio and LIT with him, and will co-lead BRG with Kristian Kölsche of Kombiverkehr. BRG is jointly owned by Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft and Kombiverkehr. (ah)
