Bifa welcomes smoother flows across Irish Sea
Following the UK–EU Summit, the British International Freight Association (Bifa ) has welcomed steps to ease trade flows between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Director general Steve Parker praised new commitments to improve sanitary and phytosanitary cooperation and simplify cross-border procedures. Freight forwarders managing vital Irish Sea supply chains are hopeful these changes will reduce delays and regulatory friction.
"Simplifying processes for Northern Ireland is a breakthrough," Parker said. "We now urge the UK government to focus on practical implementation that restores predictability and supports island-wide logistics." (ah)
