Biggest investment in widebody equipment

Air Greenland has entered into a large agreement with aircraft manufacturer Airbus for the delivery of a new A330-800neo (list price: USD 260 million), which is expected to be in route from 2021. The replacement of the company's only jet aircraft, an A330-200, is expected to fly primarily between Copenhagen (Denmark) and the new international airports in Nuuk and Ilulissat in Greenland.

The acquisition is Air Greenland's largest investment ever and shall ensure that the airline remains competitive in the future in order to generate growth in tourism, business exports and at the same time reduce its impact on the climate.

The belly freight capacity for 27 ULD helps Greenlandic companies to sell their goods abroad. This applies not least to fresh fish, which will be able to reach consumers faster in the future. (ah)
